The AMA Association for Sensor Technology was founded in 1980 as the AMA Arbeitsgemeinschaft Messwertaufnehmer e.V., a registered workgroup association for measuring transducers. Today the AMA has more than 420 members, 70 of which are R&D institutes.

The AMA Association represents the interests of all organizations engaged in one form or another with measuring devices or systems. It thus covers the entire value chain from fundamental research to production and from sensor elements to complex measuring, testing, and controlling systems.

The AMA is an active and authoritative technical association offering its members multi-layered services and a unique network, securing and expanding the strong position of its members on the world market. AMA ist organizer of the exhibition SENSOR+TEST, with about 700 exhibitors the worldwide most important exhibition for sensor technologies and micro system technologies.
