How to use Technology Offers

Product name

Fe-NHC-Kat from Technical University Dortmund

Summary

Non-toxic regioselective catalysis

Organization name

Provendis

Profile

Fe-NHC-Kat stands for a completely new class of catalyst. These iron catalysts are much more beneficial than conventional noble metal or nickel catalysts. They are nontoxic and less susceptible to external influences such as oxygen and water, for example.

Commercial opportunities

The novel Fe-catalysts are suitable for a plurality of chemical key reactions such as symmetric or asymmetric allylic substitution, C-C-, C-N- and C-O-bond linkages, cyclisation reactions, cross-coupling reactions or metathesis, for example. The areas of application are accordingly diverse.

Current status

Application for patent has been filed internationally by Dortmund Technical University. Work is currently being conducted to extend the range of application of the novel catalysts. To our knowledge, there are no restrictions by third party protective rights on the patents. PROvendis is offering licences to interested companies for the use of the catalysts on behalf of Dortmund Technical University. In addition, there is an opportunity for research collaboration with the inventor.

Benefits

  • broad spectrum of applications
  • regioselective
  • high yields
  • hardly any byproducts
  • unsusceptible to H2O and O2
  • non-toxic
