How to use Technology Offers

Product name

Metal salophen complexes

Summary

Metal salophen complexes, especially iron salophen complexes, for treatment of cancer

Organization name

ipal GmbH

Profile

Most anti-neoplastic drugs, like Cisplatin, 5-Fluoroacil and Etoposid, induce apoptosis via the tumor suppressive effects of p53. This leads to a higher effetiveness of cytostatics in p53 positiv tumor cells.

Determination of IC50 values revealed a strong cytostatic effect of Fe(II) and Fe(III) salophen complexes in p53 independent breast tumor cells. Activity was 100fold higher compared to known cytostatica.

Application

  • Therapy of cancer and metastases like breast, colorectal, lung, gastric, pancreatic and esophagal cancer with metal salophen complexes

A European patent application was filed.

This is an invention of the Free University Berlin, Germany offered by IPAL.
