How to use Technology Offers
The `Technologies offered´-section displays product and technology opportunities. Text search allows the use of phrases not yet part of the category lists. Key words can be used in combination and help identifying the hits most relevant for you.
A search for a cancer, preclinical stage, synthetic opportunity would use the selection "Biomedicine, Diagnostics" in `Sector´, "Cancerous, neoplasmatic" in `Disease Category, "Drugs, Small Molecule" in `Technology´ and "Preclinical" in `Development Stage´.
Selection of "Enabling Technology, Platform Technology" in `Sector´ will identify all kinds of research technologies that can be used in more areas of life sciences than pharmaceuticals only.
Each technology profile gives the name of a company or academic institute as source of the offer, and a link allowing to contact the potential licensor. In most cases a profile includes a pdf covering the available non-confidential information as well as detailed contact data.
Registered users can create non-public notifications profiles which will inform them about new Technology Offered entries fitting their needs as specified. In addition these profiles allow them to filter the available information more comfortably.
Product name
EMULSION BUSTER - Emulsion separation with scCO2
Summary
A process has been developed at the Technical University of Dortmund that for the first time enables biocatalytic reaction mixtures composed by two-phase whole cell biotransformations to be processed efficiently.
Organization name
PROvendis GmbH
Profile
The new processing method enables the stable emulsion to be separated by treatment with supercritical carbon dioxide and is suitable for application on an industrial scale. In contrast to conventional processes such as e.g. centrifuging or membrane filtration, a complete phase separation can be achieved. After separation of the phases, these can either be further processed using conventional processes or the products can be recovered directly by a subsequent supercritical extraction operation. The invention is distinguished in particular by its simplicity and universal applicability. Any desired biocatalytic two-phase processes can be worked with this.
