PEOPLE

Building on 25 years of experience, Transgene has become a fully integrated biopharmaceutical company employing more than 200 people, including 90 persons in R&D, 70 persons in pharmaceutical operations, and a dedicated staff for regulatory and medical affairs to support early & late stage clinical development. With more than 35 clinical trials already organized, Transgene can provide one of the best expertise in the preparation of clinical trials for biologicals in the US and Europe.

FINANCIAL CAPABILITIES

Transgene has raised 150 M€ of funding between 2005 and 2007 as a result of a number of positive events, including the partnership with Roche for the TG4001 product (immunotherapy product for the treatment of HPV induced precancerous lesions of the cervix)

Technologies and product candidates for immunotherapy applications are of particular interest for Transgene, in order to help consolidating the existing product portfolio.

These include:

• Therapeutic monoclonal antibodies
• Novel active immunotherapy products
• Adjuvant (to viral vectors and to proteins)
• Novel targets in infectious diseases
• Novel tumor associated antigens
• Poxvirus and adenovirus related technologies (manufacturing process enhancement, novel formulation, etc.)

The main criteria to be fitted for selection are the following:

• The candidate product should have a strong scientific rationale
• High potential medical value, having the potential to become a significant breakthrough as a therapeutic agent
• Valuable and marketable drug within a reasonable timeframe
