Profile
Description
In collaboration with another SME, World Health Organisation and several non-governmental organization, this Belgian company is developing a portable digital X-ray systems to perform X-ray screening on site (villages, prisons, small hospitals, market places, ...) in population where tuberculosis (TB) is widely spread.
The system would be used by people without strong education in radiography diagnosis. This issue can be solved by score sheets, teleradiology or with the use of artificial intelligence tools. The target is to achieve a pre-sorting of the patients through some score levels provided by the software. The SME is looking for such tools that could be used on digital images obtained in a fix geometry on flat panels detectors. It is acceptable that the software is developed with the support of a data base that could be built step by step with the use of the Xray systems on site. In the preferred embodiment score levels assessing the risk or degree of tuberculosis should be provided so that a first sorting of the patients could be performed. Pictures will be captured with latest generation of flat panels detectors.
